      • I am currently looking for a housemate or two for the master bedroom in our house. 556 Poppyfield Place, Goleta CA is 3 bedrooms, 2 bath, in the neighborhood behind UCSB housing at the intersection of Storke Rd. and El Colegio (~1mi from UCSB, next to bike path); we are offering the master bedroom with its private bathroom as either a single or a double, with rent $1600/month for the room, along with 1 month security deposit. Two of the smaller bedrooms are currently filled by myself and another male grad student. Lease would be 1 year starting September 22; the landlord will write individual leases for each of us. Some furniture left behind by previous tenants is available, including a desk, dresser unit, and a bunk bed (furniture was inspected by us, is in good condition; was bought new by previous tenants). House has kitchen, living/dining room, a small backyard, a washer+dryer, and a garage with space for 2 cars (neither of us will have a car there). I am posting here this late because I was banking on getting a housing through UCSB housing service but it looks like it won't be happening, since I have not received an email yet. Silly me for not preparing for the worst, knowing that there is a housing crisis at UCSB. My general life schedule will mostly be filled with my field of study. To be specific, during the day time of the weekdays, I will be busy attending my classes, and during the weekends, and most afternoons/evenings throughout the week I will be focusing on my courseworks and exam preparations. Other than being a "bookworm" most times of the day, I like to take care of my body by going to the gym. If you were to have me as your housemate or roommate you will be guaranteed to have a housemate/roommate who respects everyone's privacy and boundaries, while fulfilling his shared duty of the house to ensure the residence stays at a hygienic and habitable place.
